CONCEPT:
The design concept for the main lobby included a 3-dimensional sculptural mobile. When viewed from underneath, the mobile is an abstract version of the company’s logo.
CHALLENGE:
A beautiful atrium lobby to display the company logo. Easy, right? Well, how do you bring to life a 3-dimensional corporate logo/architectural feature that is viewable from all sides and angles?
SOLUTION:
The architect worked with 3Form to bring their vision to life. AEC bridged the gap by coordinating with 3Form and the general contractor to complete a smooth (yet complicated) install of over 200 cable mobiles. This was achieved by using over 200 twelve foot long single cables with colored acrylic squares layered on each cable. Each cable was labeled and mapped to be installed into pre-drilled metal plates at the ceiling. From designing and installing the unistrut hanging system to coding, labeling, and organizing 200+ boxes of materials… AEC made the complicated seem easy.
AEC also completed the fabrication and installation of the main lobby seating (pictured above). This unique banquette is in the shape of the corporation’s (7-eleven) “7.” AEC provided this entire unit from the wood base to the comfortable cushions.
