This installation consists of custom-cut Clipso fabric (all different shapes and sizes), Silent Gliss low profile drapery track, and custom sewed welt. And how do you precisely cut 125 pieces – each individual unique piece – all cut differently? We tried several different fabrics in our R&D phase. We needed something that would hold its shape, but was not too stiff or heavy, and looked light and airy.
The track is flexible and could bend to the shape we wanted to help give it that dunes effect.
This was a true labor of love! It turned out beautifully and makes a huge impact in that space, providing an impressive aesthetic and equally impressive acoustical absorption.
