If you can dream it, we can build it.
How do you create oversized, felt-covered, crisscross beams that span a large space and are suspended from the ceiling? Well, you start by calling us! Then we get down to the nuts and bolts… and felt. This crisscross feature needed to look substantial but be light enough to hang from the ceiling. It also needed to be all in one plane, with long continuous beam lengths. We created the beams using a honeycomb infrastructure, laminated with a high-grade, thin veneer. The long continuous sections were built and spliced together where needed. We cut the angled sections on-site to get the perfect alignment, then the beams were suspended using aircraft cable. From there, we applied the felt to the sides and bottom of the beams in continuous strips. Ta-da! Felt-covered beams. Gorgeous!
